Goat Behavior

Spend enough time around goats, and you’ll quickly realize they have plenty of personality. Some behaviors are easy to understand, while others leave you wondering what on earth they’re doing.

I’ve always enjoyed watching how goats interact with one another, explore their surroundings, and respond to everyday situations. But there’s often more behind those behaviors than simply calling a goat stubborn or mischievous.

Here you’ll find explanations of common goat behaviors, including headbutting, bleating, jumping, chewing, and herd interactions. My goal is to help you better understand what your goats may be communicating and recognize when a behavior deserves closer attention.

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.
